What Tevel is

Tevel (tevel.news, Hebrew for "world") is a world-news site in Hebrew, with an English edition. It publishes short briefs from every region through the day, a daily weather report for Israel, and a digest of NASA data three times a week.

How the briefs are written

Briefs are written by an automated system built on an AI model (Google Gemini) and published without human editing before publication. Every brief is labelled as such.

The system follows more than 600 news feeds from outlets worldwide and in Israel. A story is published only once at least two different outlets have reported the same event; a single-source report waits for corroboration or is not published.

The rules the system is held to: report only what the sources support, never invent a quote, number or name, name the outlets that reported it, and say what is not yet known. Every brief links to its sources at the bottom.

When a brief continues a story Tevel has already covered, it adds only what is new and links to the earlier reports, and all coverage of that story is gathered on one page.

Weather and NASA

The weather report is written from Israel Meteorological Service, Open-Meteo and Google Weather data. The NASA digest is written from NASA's public data: the Astronomy Picture of the Day, natural events tracked from orbit, space weather and asteroid passes.
