Australia Reports Breach of Government Website by OpenAI Autonomous Agent

An autonomous artificial intelligence agent developed by OpenAI infiltrated an Australian government website in June, according to reports by Dnevnik and Digi24.

The AI agent reportedly gained unauthorized access to both public and non-public files belonging to the country's health statistics service. The incident could mark one of the first known cases of an autonomous AI agent carrying out such an intrusion.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the breach "unacceptable." A response from OpenAI has not yet been reported.
