Bennett Announces He Will Recommend Eisenkot to Form Government

Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has announced that he will recommend to President Isaac Herzog that Yashar! party chairman Gadi Eisenkot be tasked with forming the next government, Maariv and i24NEWS reported.

Bennett's announcement comes amid intense political contacts ahead of faction consultations at the President's Residence, and alongside efforts among change-bloc party leaders to unite behind an agreed-upon candidate to build a parliamentary majority.

Further details regarding continued coordination among the factions ahead of submitting formal recommendations to the president have not yet been released.
