Bulgarian Businessman Iliyan Filipov Shot Dead

Prominent Bulgarian businessman Iliyan Filipov was shot dead in the early hours of Wednesday, Hungarian outlet 24.hu and Bulgarian newspaper Dnevnik reported. According to the report by 24.hu, the shooting occurred around 1:00 AM.

Filipov, born in 1973 in the city of Plovdiv, led the PIMK business group. Following the killing, the organization "Business for Plovdiv" stated that Filipov's death is a heavy blow to the local business community.

The circumstances of the murder, the identity of the shooters, and the motive have not yet been released.
