Car Bomb Suspicions Near UK's RAF Fairford Air Base

Bomb disposal technicians were dispatched to the area around Britain's RAF Fairford air base to inspect vehicles amid suspicions of car bombs, according to reports by ynet and Srugim.

According to the reports, security around the military installation, which is also used by the United States Air Force, had been stepped up in recent days, with ynet reporting that the highest level of alert was declared on base. At the same time, British authorities stated that the incident is under control.

Dutch broadcaster NOS reported that explosives experts continue to examine cars located in the rural area near the base. Further details regarding the identities of those detained have not yet been released.
