Cultural Diplomacy: Peng Liyuan and Melania Trump Meet in Washington

While their husbands held talks at the White House, US First Lady Melania Trump hosted China's first lady, Peng Liyuan, in Washington on Thursday. The two visited the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art as part of an effort promoting cultural exchange and soft power.

During the visit, they watched a performance by the Hope Chinese School youth choir, which sang the traditional piece "Jasmine Flower" while waving American and Chinese flags, according to the South China Morning Post and the ANSA news agency. Peng, a renowned soprano, hummed along with the choir.
