Eagle's Nest in Germany Engulfed in Fire; Police Arrest Suspect

A fire broke out at the "Eagle's Nest," the historic retreat used by senior Nazi officials in Bavaria in southern Germany, as reported by Haaretz and The Jerusalem Post.

German police announced that a suspect was arrested in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, around 200 firefighters and emergency personnel were dispatched to the area around the town of Berchtesgaden to battle the flames engulfing the mountaintop building, which was constructed in the late 1930s and used among others by Adolf Hitler.

The circumstances behind the fire, the extent of the damage to the site, and the identity of the detained suspect have not yet been released.
