FBI: North Korea's TraderTraitor Hackers Tried to Convert Binance Loot

According to the FBI, North Korean hacker group TraderTraitor breached Binance and has already attempted to convert stolen assets into Ethereum.

The FBI has identified the North Korean state-backed hacker group TraderTraitor as the entity directly responsible for the cyberattack on crypto exchange Binance, Greek news outlet iefimerida and South Korean outlet Digital Today reported. According to the bureau, members of the group have already attempted to convert portions of the stolen funds into Ethereum, with further laundering efforts anticipated.

Meanwhile, as Binance announced it had covered approximately 90% of the stolen funds, reports noted that the remaining 10% consists of digital tokens with lower market liquidity. Further details have not yet been released.
