Hungary: Competition Authority Probes Suspected Cartel in Public Catering
Hungary's competition authority has opened an investigation into public catering companies over suspected cartel arrangements and overpriced services.

Hungary's Economic Competition Office has launched proceedings against companies operating in the public catering sector over suspicions of unlawful agreements and cartel practices, Hungarian news outlets Telex and HVG reported.
According to the reports, the investigation follows recurring concerns that catering suppliers charged inflated prices for their services and may have bribed decision-makers. HVG noted that park maintenance companies are not currently being investigated, despite past allegations of simulated competition in tenders within that sector as well.
The identities of the companies under investigation and further details regarding the scope of the proceedings have not yet been released.
