IDF Begins Review Process for October 7 Citations and Decorations

The military launched an evaluation process to award citations to soldiers for bravery through the start of the Gaza ground offensive.

The Israel Defense Forces has announced the start of a review process for awarding military citations and decorations to soldiers for acts of bravery during the October 7 battles and through the beginning of the ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, Walla and i24NEWS reported. The military characterized the initiative as an integral duty.

Under the outlined framework, commanders will submit recommendations for acts of valor, which will be evaluated by designated panels before being forwarded to the Chief of Staff for a final determination.

Concurrently, exceptional acts of bravery by civilians will be referred for review by the advisory committee to the President of Israel.
