IDF Kills Hamas Northern Gaza Brigade Commander Izz al-Din Bik

The IDF and Shin Bet killed Izz al-Din Bik (Abu Hamza), commander of Hamas's northern Gaza Strip brigade and one of the planners of the October 7 attack, overnight. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the strike, Zman Yisrael and ynet reported.

According to ynet, Bik was targeted inside an apartment in Gaza City. He had previously survived four assassination attempts, including an airstrike in May alongside the deputy commander of Hamas's Gaza City brigade.

Maariv reported that Bik was considered a key figure in the fighting across the northern Gaza Strip and was nicknamed within Hamas "the breaker of the Generals' Plan." Further details regarding the operation have not yet been released.
