IDF Strikes Syrian Operative on Lebanon-Syria Border Linked to Iran

The IDF carried out an airstrike near the Lebanon-Syria border targeting a Syrian operative who acted under Iranian direction, ynet and Haaretz reported. According to the IDF, the target was Youssef Ali al-Hassoun, who advanced terror plots that included launching explosive drones and rockets against Israeli forces in southern Syria as well as Israeli civilians.

According to ynet, the strike occurred in the Hawsh el-Sayyed Ali area, and Lebanese sources reported six casualties. While Maariv reported that al-Hassoun was killed, ynet noted that the military did not confirm his death and emphasized its commitment to the agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
