India Launches First LNG-Powered Train and Rail Projects in Gujarat

India's Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the country's first train powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Gujarat, according to a report by Pragativadi. The ceremony also marked the launch of several railway infrastructure projects valued at roughly 1,500 crore rupees.

According to The Economic Times, the newly launched train is equipped with 1,400-horsepower power cars. The system is designed to replace nearly 40% of conventional diesel consumption, significantly cutting emissions and fuel costs.
