Israeli Couple Arrested in Montenegro with Spy Gear and €1 Million

Two dual Israeli-Russian citizens were detained at a Montenegrin airport before boarding a flight to Israel after police uncovered espionage equipment and large sums of cash.

Montenegrin police have arrested Alexander Kruglyansky and his partner at an airport in the country as they prepared to board a flight to Ben Gurion Airport. According to reports by ynet and i24NEWS, the couple, who hold dual Israeli and Russian citizenship, were detained in possession of 19 suitcases containing espionage equipment and approximately one million euros in cash.

Kruglyansky is employed by a tech firm in Moscow. Following the search, the pair were brought before a local court, which extended their remand by one month. Full details surrounding the purpose of the equipment and the cash have not yet been released.
