Kalshi Probes Suspicious Bets Placed Ahead of White House Press Secretary Announcement

Prediction market platform Kalshi is investigating a series of suspicious bets placed ahead of the announcement appointing Katie Zacharia as White House press secretary, Israeli newspaper Haaretz and South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, citing a report in The Wall Street Journal.

According to the reports, at least three suspicious wagers were placed shortly before news of the selection became public, at a time when Zacharia's odds on the platform stood at approximately 1%. Placed for relatively modest amounts, the bets could yield thousands of dollars in profits following President Donald Trump's selection.
