Media personality Yinon Magal met with an uncle and cousin of hostage Shiri Bibas and apologized to the family, Haaretz and Arutz 7 reported. Magal asked to convey his apologies to Yarden and Ofri Bibas as well, following a public backlash triggered by harsh remarks he made regarding released captives and bereaved families.

According to Haaretz, Magal asserted after the encounter that an incitement campaign had been waged against him. Ofri Bibas firmly rejected his statements and stated that the family does not accept the apology, arguing that it was not made in good faith.
