The Israel Police have launched an investigation after a mock explosive attached to a Hamas flag was discovered over the weekend on an access road near Mount Baal-Hazor in the West Bank, according to reports by The Jerusalem Post and JDN.

According to JDN, police officers and Border Police bomb disposal technicians were dispatched to the scene following a report of a suspicious object located near an air control base in the area. Sappers carried out a controlled explosion, after which the object was confirmed to be a dummy device.

Police forces have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details regarding the identities of those responsible have not yet been released.
