Politico reporter barred from White House despite court ruling

The White House blocked entry to journalists from prominent media outlets, hours after a federal judge ordered their credentials restored.

Hours after a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to immediately restore press credentials for several news organizations, a Politico reporter was denied entry to the White House. According to reports by Business Insider and G4Media, a Secret Service agent confiscated the reporter's pass, stating he was not cleared to enter.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly had issued a temporary restraining order effective for at least two weeks, directing the administration to reinstate access for journalists from Politico, CNN, and MS NOW after their credentials were seized last week. Despite the order, MS NOW reporters were also blocked from entering.

The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
