Protests have erupted across New York after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and wounded a man, Radio-Canada reported. Following the incident, Mayor Zohran Mamdani asked US President Donald Trump to suspend the agency's operations in the city.
Meanwhile, The Jerusalem Post reported that Mamdani is facing mounting pressure from socialist allies to dismiss NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch. The demands also come amid heightened political tensions after pro-Palestinian activists disrupted an October 7 memorial vigil in the city.
