Senior Municipal Official Detained in Central Israel in Bribery Investigation
Israel's National Fraud Investigations Unit detained a senior municipal official in central Israel on suspicion of bribery ties with an insurance agent.
Investigators from the National Fraud Investigations Unit (Yaha) detained a senior official from a municipality in central Israel this morning and conducted searches of his home and office, Globes and Reshet 13 reported.
According to the reports, the questioning is part of a new offshoot of the corruption investigation known as "Yad Lochezet Yad", which is linked to suspicions surrounding the Histadrut labor federation. The official is suspected of maintaining corrupt bribery ties with an insurance agent who had previously been questioned in the case.
