Tensions with Iran: Border shooting in Turkey and Putin-Rezaei meeting

Russia's president met with an Iranian official, as Turkey reported a soldier was killed by fire originating from Iran.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, as reported by Srugim and the Jerusalem Post. The meeting takes place against the backdrop of reports that Rezaei received a letter last week from U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance regarding negotiations for a ceasefire agreement.

At the same time, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced that a Turkish soldier was killed on October 31 by fire originating from Iranian territory while attempting to prevent an illegal border crossing. According to reports, Iran has opened an investigation into the incident. Further details have not yet been released.
