Trump and Vance Cancel Campaign Events Days Ahead of Midterm Elections

The US president cancelled two rallies and the vice president pulled out of a visit without explanation, amid reports of a pivot to tight races and questions surrounding Iran tensions.

US President Donald Trump has cancelled his in-person participation in two campaign rallies days before the midterm elections, while Vice President JD Vance cancelled a visit at the last minute without an official explanation, Israeli newspaper Maariv and Hungarian news outlet 24.hu reported.

According to 24.hu, Trump plans to focus in the coming days on congressional districts where tight races are anticipated. Concurrently, Maariv noted that the abrupt cancellations prompted speculation against the backdrop of heightened tensions with Iran, though there is no confirmation of any link between the schedule changes and military preparations.

Further details regarding the reasons for the cancellations and an updated campaign schedule have not yet been released.
