United States President Donald Trump announced in an interview with Fox News that Washington will cease funding Israel's security needs starting at the end of 2026. According to reports by international outlets, including Polsat News and Jutarnji list, Trump stated that an agreement on the matter had been reached with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that, in his view, Israel no longer requires the annual aid package of nearly four billion dollars. Trump added that the US would continue to assist Israel if needed in the future.

The announcement triggered sharp reactions within the Israeli political establishment. As reported by the Jerusalem Post and Srugim, Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot and Democrats leader Yair Golan attacked Netanyahu's conduct, characterizing the development as a severe failure and a blow to national security.
