US Pulls All Bombers from UK Base Over Alleged Iranian Plot

The US military has evacuated all strategic bombers stationed at RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom, the Financial Times and Israeli channel N12 reported. According to the reports, the urgent departure of the B-1B Lancer aircraft followed new intelligence concerning an Iranian plot targeting the base.

According to N12, the sense of urgency escalated in the 24 hours preceding the evacuation, with some bombers taking off before refueling tankers were ready. The Financial Times added that UK and American officials alleged Iran was involved in an incident in which five British men were arrested near the base.

News outlet Srugim noted that the Pentagon confirmed all the bombers have returned to the United States. Further details regarding the plot have not yet been released.
