Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the state memorial marking October 7 was interrupted by a bereaved father, as reported by Behadrey Haredim and The Jerusalem Post. According to the reports, the father shouted at Netanyahu, "You did not protect my son," and accused him of bearing responsibility for his death.

According to The Jerusalem Post, citing public broadcaster Kan, the protester was the father of Tom Godo. Godo's funeral was held on October 13, 2023, and in 2025 the IDF informed his family that he had been killed by Israeli fire during the fighting.
