Eisenkot to Security Chiefs: Netanyahu Is Caretaker Premier Without Mandate
The Yashar party leader addressed defense establishment chiefs and warned Netanyahu against using security for political aims.

Yashar Party Chairman and former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot appealed overnight to the heads of the defense establishment and the civil service, asserting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is serving as a caretaker premier without a mandate or public trust, news outlet JDN and Channel 14 reported. In his remarks, Eisenkot promised full backing to agency leaders.
Eisenkot made the statements amid the ongoing ballot counting in the Knesset elections, warning Netanyahu against using national security for political purposes. He also declared an end to what he termed the era of draft evasion and failure. A response from the Prime Minister's Office or further details have not yet been released.
