Footage Shows Arrest of Suspects Near UK Air Base as Counter-Terror Unit Takes Over

New footage from the English village of Whelford captures the detention of at least five men suspected of plotting an attack on the nearby RAF Fairford air base, according to reports by ynet and Channel 14. The video shows the suspects handcuffed and seated shirtless on the roadside amid concerns over possible explosive belts.

According to the reports, Britain's counter-terrorism police have taken charge of the investigation, while bomb disposal teams were called in to inspect three vans at the scene. Polish newspaper Wyborcza and ynet reported that security forces and sappers continue to operate in the rural area surrounding the base, which is also utilized by the United States Air Force.

The identities of the suspects and further findings from the vehicle inspections have not yet been released.
