UAE to Investigate Whether Flydubai Flight Incident Was Act of Terror
The UAE attorney general has ordered the formation of an investigative team to determine whether the attack aboard the Tel Aviv-bound flight was organized terrorism.
The United Arab Emirates is establishing an investigative team to examine whether the incident aboard yesterday's flydubai flight to Tel Aviv was an act of organized terrorism, public broadcaster Kan 11 reported. According to a report by Globes, the country's attorney general formally ordered an examination into the possibility that the assault was a terrorist attack.
Meanwhile, according to Globes, Israeli security officials currently assess that the first officer acted alone and without Iranian direction. The report added that Saudi Arabia, where the aircraft made its emergency landing, seeks to conduct the investigation itself, while Israeli security authorities harbor concerns over potential copycat attacks.
