Yair Golan Backs Including Arab Party in Next Government

The Democrats chairman said an Arab party should be included in a future government, but clarified he spoke for his own party and the matter was not discussed among opposition leaders.

The chairman of The Democrats party, Yair Golan, expressed support for including an Arab party in a future government, while clarifying that the matter was not raised during last night's meeting of opposition party leaders. In an interview with public broadcaster Kan 11, Golan stated that an Arab party could join the next coalition, calling the prospect "right and fitting," and added that he believes practical ways will be found to integrate the Arab public.

According to a report by Haaretz, Golan later clarified that he was speaking strictly on behalf of his own party rather than the opposition bloc as a whole.

Meanwhile, Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Liberman commented on the bloc's coordination, remarking: "When we ran with one head – we lost, when we ran with five heads – we won."
